Amongst the trees and the spinach leaves
She saw him or the first time
Alive
Alone
Longing
A strange kinship
Undecided as to whether it was
Romance or brotherly love
But love non the less
A kinship, is all she could say
And a familiarity
As if she had been doing this all her life
Running after dreams
Down a country road
In the midst of conversation
A kinship
A strange kind of bond
Familiar as the smell of pine needles
As unnerving as a sudden wind
She felt a kinship, was all.
And kin folk do not lie.
