We are told
Not to listen to the voice
That calls out
In fits of passion
When the heart is open
The root is secure
The sacral is quivering
In desire for another
For life
For movement
Indeed, for change.
We say things we don’t mean
When we are intoxicated
And punch drunk on desire
But what if that is the only time
When we speak the truth that is really in our hearts?
When the rush of hormones
And tiny crystals of information
Bypass the circuits of conformity and fear
I say
REMEMBER! what the heart yearns for
Late at night
Early in the morning
When daydreaming are clouds passing by
When staring at the full moon
When walking a trail in pitch black.
What does your heart yearn for?
What do you tell your lover
Between pillows
In a whisper
When you think there is a fifty percent chance
He or she has fallen asleep
And will never hear you say the words
So pressing upon your lips?
In those times
Look into the eyes of your own soul
As you look into the eyes of the other
Remember
The silent callings of your own path
Leading where YOU truly want it to go.
Then take a first shaky step
If you dare
Out past the water's edge
Let tiny fish
Nibble at your toes
Let the water move you.
